Lourdes is not only an account of one of the Blessed Mother s apparitions but also and above all the story of several men and women whose lives were irrevocably changed by this event. A young country girl finds herself suddenly caught up in events far bigger than herself-events that she finds hard to understand. A pragmatic doctor is faced with the unexplainable healing of his wife and is obliged to grapple with the &quot unreasonableness&quot of faith which is completely opposed to his scientific beliefs.
